Based on David Grann's 2017 novel of the same name, Killers of the Flower Moon tells the harrowing true story of the murder of native Americans in order to control the oil held beneath their lands. 

Scorsese was conscious of the sensitive nature of the subject matter and consulted with the Osage tribe to ensure historical accuracy, including the cast being taught the Osage language. 

His attention to detail paid of with the film receiving critical acclaim and ten Oscar nominations, including the coveted Best Picture and Best Director awards.
