A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1994 for Frank Darabont's classic "The Shawshank Redemption", based on a short story (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption) by Stephen King. 

Nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, this astonishing film stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman (also Oscar nominated for Best Actor). 

Darabont bought the right's to King's book in 1987 with a $5,000 cheque. According to an interview in the Wall Street Journal, King never cashed it and returned it framed to the director with a note, "In case you ever need bail money. Love, Steve."

This fantastic and really hard to track down single-sided movie poster, showing Andy emerge as a free man from the penitentiary sewer, has never been folded and as our photos show, is in superb condition. 

By the way, although set in Maine, The Shawshank Redemption was actually filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory. Built between 1886 and 1910, it was still in use up until 1990, just a couple of years before filming!
