Based on the 1982 manga by Hotaru Okamoto and Yuko Tone, Only Yesterday follows city dweller Taeko Okajima as she gets away from urban hustle and bustle and visits the countryside to help with the safflower harvest. Will it be the rural idyll she imagined as a child?

From the esteemed Studio Ghibli, it would become the highest grossing Japanese film of 1991, but would not receive an English language release until 2016!
